Campaign: Icons of Cool series 911 Spirit 70
Objective:
”The 1970s was a decade that was bold, vibrant and entirely unforgettable. A time of flamboyant fashion, sensational footwear and oversized sunglasses – and of growing freedom, self-expression and radical change. All this and more has helped inspire a new, limited-edition 911 – the 911 Spirit 70 from Porsche Heritage Design. A passion project from the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur programme, it harnesses the spirit and energy of the 1970s, distilled in the form of a very special 911 sportscar.”
Why it works:
1. This is how you incorporate the nostalgic effect for a product campaign, classy, tasteful and not cartoonish.
2. Incorporating a subtle and warm color scheme, along with a blurry and warm septia tone over the photos.
3. One of the popular film formats in the 1970's was Kodachrome and the cheaper commercial formulations suffer from a reddish tint and darkening of the photographs over time due to the delicate blue pigments in use at the time not standing up so well to UV light exposure.
